How to take Sibutrex?
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Sibutrex in the morning unless otherwise directed by your doctor. The recommended starting dose of Sibutrex is 10 mg once daily with or without food. If there is inadequate weight loss, the dose may be titrated after four weeks to a total of 15 mg once daily. Doses above 15 mg daily are not recommended. The 5 mg dose should be reserved for patients who do not tolerate the 10 mg dose. Blood pressure and heart rate changes should be taken into account when making decisions regarding dose titration. |

Is there some drug interaction with Sibutrex?
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Sibutrex. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you are also taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), or medicine for depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder (SSRI). Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of eating disorders, pulmonary hypertension, irregular heartbeat, atherosclerosis, heart conditions, or stroke. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking this medicine. |
